Partnering business with community

SPONSOR SHOUT-OUT:
TRIPLE STAR COMMERCIAL CLEANING

Jim Chen believes in supporting the community. When he started his commercial cleaning business, Triple Star Commercial Cleaning, eight years ago, he wanted his business to play a part in improving the lives of the people around him. He joined up with Upstream, an organisation that connects people to shops and services that invest in the community.

It was through his association with Upstream that Jim encountered Kairos Food Rescue. Intrigued, Jim came to visit our warehouse and Free Store. Jim was impressed with how Kairos operates and how they give back to the community. He felt like his company could do something similar.

Jim now regularly donates a portion of Triple Star’s business earnings to support the work of Kairos Food Rescue. While Jim’s only aim with his support is to give back to the community, he also finds that his partnership with Kairos encourages himself and his team to better job performance and to win more work, because in doing so he can make more of an impact.

“There are a lot of people around the world, including New Zealand, who are not able to eat hot food. When I see an opportunity to make an improvement - why not?”
